An American automotive designer, racing driver and entrepreneur, Carroll Shelby was best known for his involvement with the AC Cobra and later with Mustang-based performance cars built in partnership with Ford Motor Company. He is still the only individual to win the 24 hours of Le Mans as a driver, team manager, and manufacturer.
