What does Shelby do
Carroll Shelby was always ahead of his time. While working for Dodge in the 1980s, he and his team created high-performance trucks. While only producing a few hundred of these vehicles, Carroll saw the trend of utility, performance and adventure that would eventually become popular. Throughout the 2000s, the automotive industry has largely trended away from cars and toward SUVs and trucks. The performance truck space has also bloomed not simply emphasizing work or utility but pushing rugged off-roading and lifestyle. In 2010, Ford produced the F-150 Raptor, one of the first production trucks optimized for off-road performance driving.
In 2013, Ford would continue development of the Raptor with an improved powertrain. Working closely with Ford, Shelby soon began development on the Raptor platform. Following the same blueprint as many of the Shelby Mustangs, Shelby took the already beefy truck and injected more power and performance. At the New York Auto show that same year, the Shelby Raptor was shown to the public and put into production. The platform was the first of many modern Shelby trucks to come.
The Shelby Raptor has improved every year and for 2023, the truck boasts its best suspension system, six new aluminum forged wheels on giant 37-inch off-road tires, bumpers and lighting for any occasion, and every creature comfort the new F-Series truck provides. It is by far our most polished performance truck to date.
